Why take this course?
1. The benefits of studying over a period of three years.
- You will be able to study for the BA degree over a period of 3 years by completing 2 modules per term. Therefore, you are able to enjoy a well paced approach towards completing your degree studies.
- It is possible to work on a full-time basis over the summer holidays and gain valuable work experience either in the UK or back in your country. It is possible to earn a reasonable income during full time summer work and save towards the funding of your studies. The practical experience gained in the working environment will enhance student knowledge and add to their long term employability.
- It is possible to seek work placements via certain “student work placement agencies” during your summer holidays. The College will be able to assist you in terms of approaching the correct “student work placement agency”.
2. Specialist modules in Market Research, Marketing Communications, E- Marketing, Contemporary Issues in Marketing and International Marketing.
· The modules on the University of Wales degree are specially designed for tomorrow’s marketing professionals.
3. Provides strong foundation for further study.
· A growing number of employers now specify the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Postgraduate Diploma for marketing and sales positions.
· A university of Wales Undergraduate Degree in Marketing will give students exemptions to allow them to enter the Post Graduate diploma level of the CIM professional qualifications with only 4 more subjects to pass.
· CIM Membership also gives access to the CIM network which has a worldwide membership of 150,000 people.
4. Strong focus on vocational relevance blending theory with practice.
· This course aims to equip students with not only theoretical and academic knowledge, but also practical skills which can be taken into the work place.
· Case studies and real company examples will encourage students to hone their knowledge and apply the theory into practice.

· After graduation, students can choose to focus their career in the exciting and dynamic marketing industry specialising in advertising, public relations or sales within a large or small business in profit making or non profit making organisations.
COURSE CONTENT AND ASSESSMENT
The course contains eighteen modules. The assessments are exams and coursework based as shown below.
Students have to pass 18 modules to be awarded the BA Marketing with Honours (BA Hons) but can be awarded an Ordinary degree (BA) if they pass 14 modules.

Each Module is marked out of 100 (%mark) with the pass mark being 40%.
When a student passes 18 subjects the Honours degree classification will depend upon the Grade Point Average (GPA) of modules studied at levels 5 & 6.

The 3 year (36 months) Course is divided into 9 terms and students study 2 modules per term for each of the 9 terms. From the list above the first 6 subjects are studied in Year 1 and another 6 in Year 2 and the remaining 6 subjects are studied in Year 3.

Entry Requirements
Entry onto the “BA Marketing” Course is the standard University of Wales matriculation requirements. Applicants must be able to prove that their secondary qualifications are of A-Level standard or that they possess a relevant Diploma or professional qualification. Those with full and partial professional qualifications e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIM, ICSA can apply for exemptions and will be considered on a case by case basis. Mature students without these formal qualifications are also invited to apply.
Candidates must have a minimum English certification comparable to an IELTS level of 6.0.
